REBECCA WALKER – Medication left my fine hair weak and fragile

The Manta really has given me back confidence in my hair and I’d recommend it to anyone, not just those suffering with noticeable hair loss or thinning , but for anyone that wants to keep their hair on their head, rather than in their brush!

When it comes to my hair you could say I have a love/hate relationship with it. On the whole it’s actually quite easy to manage, but there’s one thing it’s severely lacking in and that’s volume. I’ve always had fine hair so when it comes to anything that promises volume, you name it I’ve tried it. Countless blowdries that just fall flat as soon as I leave the stylists chair, every colour you can think of to help give my hair some life and let’s not forget my fair share of perms to try and get that big, bouncy finish I crave (which always turned out more Pat Sharp than Julia Roberts!). After countless forays into any technique that would promise me a voluminous finish, I’ve come to realise that for me, a good cut is the only way forward.

After colouring my hair regularly, I found it became really dry and coupled with being put onto quite strong medication for arthritis, I noticed it started to fall out. Not just the usual fall you would expect day to day but noticeable clumps. I started to dread washing and brushing my hair each morning as seeing how much hair would come out became quite a traumatic experience. As you can imagine I felt incredibly worried but for the most part, I just felt frustrated, each time I brushed my hair I’d worry about the state of what would be left after.

I decided to take a break from my medication and give my body a rest and thankfully, my hair started to grow back, but it still felt really fragile. I started using the Manta as I wanted something that would support the fragile state it was in rather than work against it. Over time it started looking and feeling much thicker and there was hardly any hair caught in the brush at the end of the week, a huge bonus from where I was before. I no longer felt anxious about brushing my hair and knowing I would eventually have to start taking medication again, this was a real comfort. It really has changed my haircare ritual now and is the only brush I’ll ever use, in fact I’ve got another one to keep in my handbag so I’m never caught without one! It’s not only improved my confidence around brushing, but my hair also looks noticeably more glossy and dare I say it, better condition than it ever has been.

The Manta really has given me back confidence in my hair and I’d recommend it to anyone, not just those suffering with noticeable hair loss or thinning, but for anyone that wants to keep their hair in optimum condition on their head, rather than in their brush!
